For a person who can figuratively talk underwater with a mouthful of marbles I always find it difficult, and uncomfortable, to talk about myself. I consider this inability a gift to humanity; my motor mouth should come with a warning.

It wasn’t that long ago that I was a junk food fiend; I loved everything that came out of a fryer! As I got older, and probably wiser, my tastes naturally changed and I began to find the crunch of, say, an apple far more appealing than that of a finger-licking-good chicken wing.

The changes were not smooth or timely, far from! I fell over a lot, and found parts of my journey confronting and uncomfortable. However, my mission has remained the same, to share information that supports men and women to feel good and make informed choices about healthier living.

So, how did I go from a KFC bucket queen into the aloe juice gal you now know?

How I started!

I came into holistic living by accident after a friend suggested I try some Forever Living products to see if it helped with my incessant headaches. You see, I had been suffering from non-stop headaches every day for the last 10 years. Nothing could stop them, and the doctors couldn’t figure out what was causing them; I had sadly accepted my fate that these punch-in-the-face aches would become an integral part of my daily reality.

With nothing to lose, I ordered the aloe juice and quickly guzzled down my first drink. It tasted. . .delicious! Not only that, but I after a few days of consistent drinking, I was feeling pretty good.

Nothing had ever had this affect on me before. I was inspired!

As a stand alone product, I found that aloe juice is packed with:

  • Vitamin B (1, 2, 3, 6 and 12)
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Folic acid
  • Fibre, and
  • Over 18 amino acids (including the essential 8)

In summary, the juice supports the immune system so I can manage stressful situations and aids digestion so I can better process waste products. It was like a switch had been flicked in my head, I had to make a change NOW.

Just to point out an important factor, I was taking a ridiculous amount of painkillers every day to put a dent in my discomfort. I had such long-term reliance on painkillers that I had developed a resilience to average doses; I was not practicing a safe, healthy or balanced lifestyle. I would soon learn that my symptoms were related to an addiction to the painkillers, my headaches were withdrawal symptoms from just a few hours of non-exposure.[LK1]

I needed to quit painkillers cold turkey, so I stocked up on aloe juice and other great fresh fruits, veggies and foods and selected a time while my sister was away on holiday. The next 14 days were the longest of my life. To my benefit, I found that the aloe juice gave me an edge on my detox because I was providing my body with additional vitamins, minerals and fibre that I would not normally eat. I couldn’t have detoxed without it.

After about 14 days, I was completely painkiller-free. My headaches had returned to normal, in that I only get headaches when I’m particularly stressed or tense, and I felt balanced.

I had found a new healthier me!
